IPFCC Webinar - Patient and Family Partnerships: An Essential Strategy to Address the Opioid Epidemi

When:  Dec 7, 2018 from 01:00 PM to 02:00 PM (ET)

Webinar Description:
Patients, families, and individuals with lived experience are essential partners in developing solutions to the opioid epidemic. To date, there has been a lack of significant and structured collaboration with patients and families, meaning that policies and programs to address the opioid epidemic are moving forward without input from the people most directly impacted. Join us to learn about key partnership principles and specific recommendations that support progress toward developing and implementing patient- and family-centered solutions to the opioid epidemic.

Webinar Objectives:

  • Describe principles that support the development of authentic partnerships with patients and families in addressing the opioid epidemic
  • Discuss recommendations for increasing collaboration with patients, families, and individuals with lived experience of substance use and substance use disorder
  • Identify steps that health care organizations and others working to decrease opioid misuse can take to engage patients and families in developing meaningful solutions
